Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

The New Jersey Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society will hold its Annual Meeting Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Wayne Public Library, 461 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ. Following a brief business meeting, Virginia E. Schein, Ph.D. will present a program entitled “My Carpatho-Rusyn Roots Search Adventure.” Dr. Schein’s video presentation begins with her search for family records and the “discovery” of her Carpatho-Rusyn ethnic identity. It culminates with her summer of 2011 visit to the birth villages of her grandparents in Ukraine. There she lived with a Rusyn family as she and her translator explored the villages of Rus’ke and Kajdanove, as well as nearby Uzhgorod and Mukachevo. Just prior to that visit, Dr. Schein attended the Second International Summer School in Rusyn Language and Culture in Presov, Slovakia. She will introduce the video and answer questions afterwards. For further information, please call (973) 540-0871.

Directions: Take Route 46 to the Riverview Drive Exit in the direction of Wayne. Continue on Riverview Drive to the traffic light at Valley Road. Turn right onto Valley Road and proceed to the second traffic light at Nellis Drive at the Wayne Municipal Complex and the Library.
