DNA, A Practical Approach for Genealogists presentation:

DNA is an acronym familiar to all of us . . . we hear it on TV, we read about it in the newspapers, we know it has medical history significance, we know it involves lots of science.  But just how exactly can it can help in doing genealogy research?

The presentation will focus on the basics of DNA--the who, what, when, where, how, and why of it--from the laymans point of view, giving you an understanding of how "genealogy" and "genetology" work together to find family ties--our "deep" roots as well as our extended family roots.  We will discuss how you can have your DNA taken and included in genealogy-type databases.

    Unique Family Trees presentation:

Once you have completed research of your family history, what can you do with the information to make it meaningful at a glance?  You can create your own family tree chart using software from your genealogy program OR you can design something really special.

We will discuss different types of family charts including ancestral/pedigree/descendant charts and how to go about designing artistic, creative charts of your own.  A display of family charts made by genealogists in Slovenia will give you ideas of how to construct one of your own.
